Starting a Blog I – The Why
Does the internet really need another blog?
Actually, no – but AI companies will be happy there is more content to scrap. And I like to mess up the models with my bad English. You can find tons of data about (almost) any topic online, you can find any opinion and especially any truth you want to find, even though you probably won’t find the only truth. So there is no need at all that his blog exists, except is has meaning to myself. And that is more than enough to account for its existence.
For who is the blog?
Good question! As you seem to be reading it, I am happy it found a human soul to be entertained, or at least amused a little. I write it for anybody who think it is worth reading, and especially for the ones I love and who support me to realize my dreams. Writing has always been a hobby of myself, though, I barely put it to work, and as I always wanted to become a computer specialist (German: Computerfachmann) it seems that writing a blog is the nearest choice. And last, I write the blog for myself: Exploring new ideas that are flying around in my head. Writing, structuring and reworking them is my way to deal with this chaos. That is the power of text and writing to get the thoughts out of the head, and look at them in a different light and perspective.
What will it be about?
My goal is to write about everything I find interesting: My personal development – probably the boring stuff, computer stuff – including probably some really technical things (even more boring), philosophy – one of my personal weaknesses, leadership – where I want to grow (we will see), and ideas that are flowing around in my mind for some time. As to say at the moment I just need to get started, so it might take a little time to answer this question properly.
Aren’t you too young to write a blog?
You mean, that blogs and forums are outdated, from the time of the internet before I was born? As this is probably true, I think of this blog as a way of self-expression. I don’t want to bind myself to any platform and fit myself in any content style and shape. Nor to be promoted as a commercial product by someone else. Those platforms seem like the little oasis of preconfigured content everyone enjoys. Short, posting on it, it doesn’t feel like me. At best like a shadow of myself.
I want the freedom of the pre-capitalized internet, where data is just data flowing from one computer to another. The digital wasteland that was build to be explored and civilized. And I think it still exists, it is just super hard to find. That the potential of connecting people is still there, but we are all captured in your own save little oasis I like to call a golden cage.
Is there any political or economical motivation?
The short and easy answer is no, but life always is more than short and easy: This blog is not in planned or motivated in any political or economical way. However, it also is an act of self-expression which always is political in one way or another. Every bit (hihihi) of content is economical nowadays, so probably the truthful answer is yes, even though it is definitely is not my core motivation.
Do you have cookies?
Seriously, who really likes cookies? They are annoying as hell, don’t fill your stomach and just reduce your mood drastically. If you really miss some, I will link a good recipe at the bottom of the page, so you can bake them yourself. I can guarantee that those will fill your stomach nicely and increase your and of yours friends’ mood. As I host this blog myself, I don’t see any need for them. Feel free to prove me wrong though!
Do you answer on comments, and can I receive updates on new posts?
Well that is work in progress. As I like building this site from scratch bottom up just write me an e-mail and I will keep you updated. Otherwise, I really enjoy receiving postcards!
